Toro Privacy Policy

Effective 8 September 2026 · Last updated 8 September 2026

The short version. Toro reads photos of trading cards and prices them.

Your card photos are never stored. An image is processed and then deleted from our server immediately, whether the scan succeeds or fails. We do not keep them, we do not build a library of them, and we do not use them to train anything.

Your collection and your scan history stay on your device. They are not uploaded to us.

Who we are

Toro is operated by Matador Vanguard LLC, a Texas limited liability company. If you have a question about this policy or about your information, write to tc@matador-llc.com.

Photos you scan

When you scan a card, the image is sent to our server so it can be identified and priced.

  • The image is held only for as long as that single scan takes.
  • It is deleted as soon as the scan finishes, including when the scan fails or errors.
  • We do not retain, archive, back up, publish, sell, or share your photos.
  • We do not use your photos to train models.

To identify a card, the image is processed by third-party service providers acting on our behalf under contract. They process the image to return a result and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Photographs of trading cards are the only images Toro asks for. Please do not photograph anything you would not want processed — people, documents, or anything private.

What stays on your device

Toro keeps the following in your device's local storage. None of it is transmitted to us:

  • Your collection, and the values attached to it
  • Your bed logs and want lists
  • Your watchlist, game preferences, price band and sort settings

Because this data lives only on your device, clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes it permanently. We cannot recover it for you, which is why Toro offers an export. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.

Purchases

Toro is a paid subscription. We never see or handle your card number.

  • On iPhone and iPad, purchases are processed by Apple and managed through a subscription-management provider. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active, plus an anonymous identifier used to attach that subscription to your device.
  • On the web, subscriptions are processed by Squarespace through their payment system. Their handling of your payment and account details is governed by their own privacy policy.

What we hold as a result is limited to whether a subscription is active, when it renews, and the anonymous identifier tied to it.

Device identifier

Toro generates an anonymous identifier for your device. It is used to apply free-tier limits fairly and to recognise an active subscription. It is not linked to your name, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.

Accounts

Toro does not currently require an account, and we do not collect a name, address, or phone number. If sign-in is added in future, this policy will be updated before that feature ships.

Market pricing

To price a card, Toro queries public marketplace listings. No information about you is included in those queries — only the identity of the card being priced.

Analytics and tracking

Toro does not include advertising, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use your information for targeted advertising.

Children

Toro is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, write to tc@matador-llc.com and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • Delete everything Toro holds on your device by clearing the app's data or deleting the app. Because your collection and logs live only there, that is a complete deletion.
  • Export your data from within Toro at any time.
  • Ask us what we hold, or ask us to delete it, at tc@matador-llc.com. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information; we honour those requests regardless of where you live.
  • Cancel a subscription in your Apple subscription settings, or by writing to us for a web subscription.

Security

Traffic between Toro and our servers is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but the strongest protection here is structural: the less we keep, the less there is to lose — and we keep no photos and no collection data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — particularly one that would mean retaining something we do not retain today — we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the text.
